Another old film scan. This shot is a black and white shot from an old church I used to pass on a regular basis. Not sure if it was the position of the light, the weathered brick, but I always seemed to “need” to take a shot when I passed by.
Scanned in some more old film. Pictured is an old music store formerly on Belmont Ave., in Chicago. At one time this stretch of Belmont was a crossroads to a diversity of local subcultures and tourists looking for something a bit more real. While the area still exists, the area has all but lost its edge as retail chains and condo developments now grab a foot hold.
Scanned in some more old film. This set is of coal refuse piles from an area in Yukon, Pennsylvania. Once a prosperous (at least for the owners) coal town, the area became a site of a violent 16 month strike from 1910-1911.
Deteriorating ruins of the coal plants and pollution from runoff still exists throughout the area.
I took a walk along the lakefront today up in Rogers Park. While I had an SLR with me, it’s hard to beat the speedy workflow and convenience of publishing from your phone.
